So, I've decided that one way to stay accountable in this whole big process is to put it all out there on my blog. So, I will be checking in weekly with an update on how I'm doing. I hope that I have lots of good news to share, but I'm prepared to post the not-so-great weeks, too.
I weighed today. I've been doing this for 11 days now, and I'm down a total of 5.4lbs. I've still got a LONG way to go, but I'm happy with that start.
With the exception of 1 day, I've drank anywhere from 80-100oz of water each day (and on that 1 day, I only got 60 in). I've stayed very close to my allotted calories each day (some days eating less which I know is not good for you, but I truly was NOT hungry). And some days going over by less than 100 calories. So, I think it probably all balances out. I'm trying to pay attention to the types of foods I'm eating as well. 100 calorie banana vs 100 calories of cookies. You know?
Still, like I said at the beginning, this is a lifestyle change. I don't want to do anything that I'm not prepared to keep up with for life. I lost a lot of weight several years ago on Weight Watchers. Great program. Unfortunately, when I got to my goal weight, I got lazy and stopped paying attention. I started eating all the things that were on my no-no list before. Before I knew it, I was right back where I started plus some more. I'm older and wiser now (hahahahahaha), and I can't let that happen again. This time, there is no true no-no list. I'm just watching portions and spreading those treats out so that they really ARE a treat and not an every day occurrence.
So, that's my update. I hope to have more happy news to report next time!
