Dabbling with Digital
I've been a paper scrapper for 7.5 years now. When digital scrapping first became popular, I was pretty vocal in my dislike for it. Then, I started seeing digital layouts that actually LOOKED like paper layouts, and I was intrigued. By the time I met Kathy Moore earlier this year, and I saw what she was able to do with digital elements, I knew I needed to investigate this! Still, I put it off because it was scary. I don't like change, and it looked quite complicated.
Then, I was put in a situation where I had to face my fears. The incredibly talented Jen Sizemore challenged me to try something I hadn't done before. So, I downloaded a free digital kit and went to work! Unfortunately, I can't share the fruits of my efforts just yet as the layout is spoken for until sometime in late August.
I have to admit that I actually had FUN with digital scrapping, and (even more surprising) I actually LIKED the end result! It's not the same as paper scrapping for me, so it could never replace my scissors and tape runner. It was a fun change of pace though, and I will definitely be doing more in the future. While I did find the process entertaining, I don't have any desire to learn all the little ins and outs of the digital world, so my digi pages will always be simple... just the way I like 'em!
This Summer page is part of a special project that I'm working on. The paper is a free download from Shabby Princess. The title font is SP Purkage, and the sub-title font is 2Peas Quirky.
