Each month, one of the girls on the Classic Scrappers group issues a layout challenge. We all try to participate ("try" being the key word here -- we're also known as the Classic Slackers), and then the host holds a drawing of all the participants for a small prize.
This month, the lovely Jennifer chose Christmas in July as our theme. We were to do any projects that were Christmas-related: gifts, cards, decor, layouts, etc. I had really good intentions in the "gifts" department, but then reality set in. I have a huge pile of Christmas pictures that I avoid (because I loathe Christmas layouts). So, I'm very proud to announce that I completed 8 layouts for the challenge! Granted, most of them were quite simple, but that's the direction my style has taken since I went back to work. I'll share a few of my favorites with you.
Santa Cookies - Design lifted from the amazing Cheryl Overton.
Christmas 2004 - Each year on Dec 26, I take a few minutes to sit down and write about the holiday season. It's just a basic outline of everything that we did to celebrate that year. Then, at some point (usually a couple of years later), I print it out and add it to my scrapbook.
The Year Without Santa - The concept of this page came from Ali Lipton. I thought it was brilliant, so I had to copy it myself!
Christmas Cheer - I love this page of Taylor on Christmas morning. Unfortunately, the colors are way off here (it's much more vibrant IRL). Still, the layout makes me smile.
OK, I'm Blogger-challenged this morning. For some reason, I can't get the last 2 photos to load. So, I'm going to link to them instead.
That's all the scrapping for me this weekend! It was fun while it lasted!
